B-day Fun!
For Kevin's 30th birthday he wanted wiffle ball, karaoke, a keg and a cake that was mispelled "Hapi Birfday"...and he got it all! Complete with Tyler from Oregon, Harriet and Enguran from Boston (we met Harriet in Japan) and Russ visiting, and abot 25 other friends throughout the day....plus Jordan and Emily were able to join us earlier than we thought!....we had quite the weekend! To top it all off OBAMA was in town (last year Bill Clinton was here on our b-day). We weren't going to go because of all of our guests--and we know how these things usually work: you wait for 2 hours to hear 30 minutes....but this was different. It was a closed guest list only event. I still wasn't planing on going, but Autumn from the campaign texted me at 9:30am and said get down here--you WILL meet him. Everyone was still in bed, but since I had no need to 'recover', I got dressed, went to the high school, walked right in and he was on stage a few feet from me within 10 minutes. He spoke for about 20 minutes and took questions for 45. By the time I got home everyone was showered and ready for lunch. After Harriet headed back to San Fran, so Tyler, Kev and I had a nice relaxing afternoon in Tahoe.
So, Kev is now the big 3-0 and taking it in stride. We feel very fortunate at where we are in life and look forward to the next 30 years of a life full of adventure.
Baby Edwards is doing well. Moving around a lot more and keeping us on our toes thinking about the future!
Kevin starts back to school tomorrow and kids are there on Monday....back into the grind! I will miss having him home during the days!
