Yay 2009!

Happy Family at the Lindsay-Dietrich New Year's Party...we made it till midnight (barely!)
We crashed pretty fast...

We hope everyone had a safe and happy new year! We are really looking forward to 2009 and all of the fun Asher will bring!

It was an interesting week with me back at work. I decided to work while Kevin was home for winter break. It was not that bad since I knew it was only for a week and that Asher was home with daddy. I came home everyday for lunch and had Thursday off for the New Year....so I survived OK. I am taking most of January off, but was able to get a lot done and organized this week at work. I will work mostly from home in January and do some stuff on weekends and evenings to keep caught up. In February I will work Sun-Tues in the office and then the rest of the week from home. I feel so fortunate to have so much flexibility!

Kevin did a great job with Asher! It was good training for when he takes off from April through the summer. It is so funny to think that a year ago Kevin was so afraid to hold little Zane and now he is quite the pro and teaching me a thing or two! We are both so fascinated by Asher's every move and sound. Everyday we discover something new and interesting about our boy. Right now Kevin is bouncing him on one of those big workout balls--who needs expensive baby equipment?!

Asher and I are getting ready to go to Oregon on Tuesday. We can hardly wait! My grandma is SUPER excited to meet her 3rd great-grandson! We are looking forward to a good visit and hoping that all of this crazy snowy weather subsides while we are there. We have a lot to pack into 4 days. Right when we get back to Reno we will start preparing for our BIG trip to Washington DC for the Inauguration! I look at the trip to Oregon as my "practice" for our all-day airline/airport adventure. Kev and I are really looking forward to the trip.

Well, I think it is time to get some of the Christmas decorations down....the worst part of the season, I think. The tree is looking quite sad, though and if we don't get it done this weekend who knows when it will get done.

Sending everyone love and peace in this new year! Hope to see you all soon.
