Summer fun!

We have had a great summer! A few weeks ago Grandma Mary Ellen came to visit Asher (let's face it--nobody comes to see US anymore!! HAHA) She enjoyed helping us do some sewing projects, making baby food and of course playing with our little man! Unfortunately she was here for our hottest week of the summer, but I think we all survived! It was so nice to have her here and I think Asher enjoyed it too!

This past weekend Kevin and I went to San Francisco to visit Wade and Glenda. They were so nice to host us in their great new condo in San Mateo. On Friday I did some research for work at the Foundation Center in San Fran and got some great leads on some grants for Crisis Call Center. On Saturday Wade joined us on a trip to the California Academy of Sciences Museum. It was really cool and Asher had a great time. We saw an Albino Alligator, all kinds of crazy fish and fun stuff. I was amazed how focused Asher was on certain things--he LOVED the jellyfish....he must have watched them for at least 10 minutes.

On Saturday night Wade and Glenda were so kind to watch Asher so Kevin could take me out on a date! He took me to the most incredible meal I think I have ever had. Here is the restaurant: http://www.viognierrestaurant.com/ We ate 4 amazing courses and did the wine pairing with each course. There really is something spectacular about putting the "right" wine with a certain food. It was very obvious they knew what they were doing :)

Asher is doing really well. A crawling machine and will be walking before we know it. He likes to be "upright" and has almost mastered pulling himself up. He can find any electrical cord in a room full of toys. He continues to love being in a room full of people and flirt with anyone that walks by. Everywhere we go people will ask, "Is he always this happy?", so we proudly reply "yes--unless he is cutting a tooth or really tired!"

I can't believe that it is August already and we are winding down the summer. We still have some fun adventures ahead of us. Danelle and Jaden arrive on Thursday and then we are off to see Jordan and Emily the following weekend in Yosemite. So fun!
